Connecticut River - Tidelands Driving Tour
TOWNS: Essex, Old Saybrook, Westbrook From Hartford area: Travel Rte. 9 South to Exit 3 for Essex. Following signs for the Connecticut River Museum, turn left onto West St. and then onto Main St., following it to the end at Steamboat Dock. Backtrack on Main St., bearing right where it becomes one way and back out to intersection with Rte. 154. Take Rte. 154 South into Old Saybrook (becomes Main St.) and follow to the end at Saybrook Point. Take Rte. 154 across the causeway into the Borough of Fenwick and continue along the shore into Westbrook. In the center of Westbrook, take Rte. 153 North to intersection with Rte. 154 and Rte. 9.
